ABIDS S.T.A.R. Socialization Temperament Assessment Review
Overview
All Breed Independent Dog Sports - Socialization Temperament Assessment Review (S.T.A.R)
At ABI, we are firm believers in simple truth: every dog has the potential to be a great dog and a model citizen.
All it takes is a little training, a whole lot of love, and—of course—praise delivered with enthusiasm.
That is exactly why we created the ABI Socialization Temperament Assessment Review (S.T.A.R) program.
Think
of it as a teamwork challenge for you and your pup—expert-designed, confidence-building, and guaranteed to
bring out the best in both ends of the leash.
The S.T.A.R program is built around 10 essential skills that help dogs learn good manners and help owners
become responsible, rock‑star dog parents.
It is not just training… it is a celebration of what you and your dog
can accomplish together.

All Breed Independent Dog Sports' Scent Dog Program
Up Your Nosework Game
We at ABI are very pleased to introduce our New Scent Dog Programs.
Four, separate programs are part of our Scent Dog Program (SDP) and are scheduled to roll out in 2025 -2026. These programs have been in development for the last four years, and we are thrilled to introduce them to the
Nosework enthusiasts' community.
Challenge games are a great complement to Nose Work programs that are currently being offered by other organizations.
Challenge Games offers 10 different games carefully built to strengthen, develop, and refine skills needed to be successful in all Nosework Programs.
These games are ideally suited for dogs training at and/or trialing at the Superior level and will provide the opportunity to develop all important skills needed to be successful at these levels as well as the highest levels of Nosework.
Many of the games provide a challenge for Elite-level dogs and provide ongoing challenges for trialing dogs at the Elite level and beyond.
Come and find out about this new and exciting Scent Dog Sport.
Stay tuned for Classes, Workshops, Mini Trials, Trials scheduled this year.

ABIDS Lost and Found
Lost and Found was developed by All Breed International Dog shows in 2021, with the
purpose of the program to build on handler discrimination and scent detection skills while
loosely simulating a search and rescue scenario.
The program showcases a dog's ability to work
independently to find an unfamiliar scented object. It is recommended that dogs have the skills
equivalent to a UKC Advanced Nosework title, Novice Handler Discrimination title, and/or
tracking experience prior to the program.
ABIDS C.F.D.C. Canadian Farm Dog Challenge
Objective:
The Canadian Farm Dog Challenge is designed to evaluate a dog’s overall behaviour and working attitude in a realistic urban
farm setting.
Participating dogs must show calm self‑control around livestock and stay focused despite the unique sights,
sounds, and scents of the farm environment.
Throughout the challenge, dogs are expected to demonstrate confidence, composure, and a willingness to collaborate closely
with their handlers.
It is a practical, real‑world assessment that highlights a dog’s steadiness, responsiveness, and ability to
thrive in a variety of farm‑style situations.

URR Urban Rat Race
Overview
History:
Country Rat Race (CRR) was developed by All Breed Independent Dog Sports (ABIDS) in 2021 to provide
a sport for all breeds of dogs who may enjoy a rat sport in a rural environment.
The development of Urban Rat
Race (URR) quickly followed in 2022 to provide a rat sport which could be enjoyed year-round, with the goal to
replicate an urban city environment where rats may typically be located.
Both CRR and URR are scent-based
sports which are inspired by elements of Barn Hunt, Earth Dog, Trailing & Locating, as well as tracking.
Purpose:
The purpose of URR is to demonstrate a canine's ability to locate vermin in an urban environment. It
tests the dog's drive, combined with the ability to work effectively with their handler as a team.
